Goin' to Philly ComicCon!

William Vitka has been asked to attend Philly ComicCon and speak for a panel on Independent Writing and Publishing!

And I'm tagging along! I'll be showing my support by wearing one of these.

We'll be around on Sunday, June 2nd at 1pm.

It should be tons of fun. (I'm sure whiskey will make an appearance at some point)

Cheers, guys!

Freelance Book Editor

Have a fiction novel or short story? How about an article or a blog piece that needs a fresh pair of eyes?

Well, I can help!

I am a freelance editor. I have a BA in English and have studied and worked in publishing. The genre I've edited the most of is sci-fi and horror. Although, I have also edited comedy, urban drama, screenplays, and children's book. I am an open minded individual, so if you have a unique project I'm confident I can help! Also, if you're looking to develop an author/editor relationship, I am open to giving that a shot as well. I am laid back, but honest and professional. I am great with deadlines, since I worked at a daily newspaper for a couple of years. So if you need your manuscript finished ASAP, I'm sure we can work out the perfect timeframe.

I can start by editing a sample of your work, anywhere from one to three chapters. I can edit your manuscript up to three times, all through track changes.

I charge by word count. Anything under five thousand words is a flat rate of fifty dollars.

New, awesome project

So after experiencing one of the most stressful weeks of my life (going through the motions of moving), I stumbled upon a wonderful opportunity. A writer, Thomas Moore, reached out to me with a few screenplays that needed a fresh pair of eyes. I honestly told him that I had never edited screenplays, but that I was confident I could be of help. And he gave me a shot! So in between moving, traveling, and working, I edited over 200 pages in just a few days. I love editing, but what I love even more is editing great work, and Tom has something special going on with his scripts, guys. Interested in how crazy people can be? In a therapist's office? Tom's work will make you think and make you laugh. You can check it out for yourself here.

I love doing new things and learning along the way, so this project was a real treat for me. I pushed myself, which is always gratifying, especially after such changes like a move.

And for my next trick, I shall edit another of I.D. Martin's shorts! More awesomeness on the way. Stay tuned.

It's about that time

I am open to different genres and types of projects. So if you have an awesome short story or an epic novel or savvy article that needs a fresh pair of eyes, I can help!

To start off I can edit a sample of your piece (anywhere from one to three chapters). If you decide you want to work with me, I will complete one round of edits in a speedy timeframe. Then I will send the document back to you, along with all of the changes and comments. After you read through the piece, you would send it back so I can tackle a second round of edits. If need be, I am willing to read through the piece a third time.

I am a freelancer. I have a BA in English and I studied publishing as well. I have edited a variety of manuscripts, including sci-fi, comedy, children's, and travel excerpts. I put my all into editing, it is important to me that your piece be the best it can. If you happen to be someone who writes often, I am more than willing to develop an author / editor relationship. I am laid back and honest, yet professional. I work hard and I work fast to get to the finished product!
